Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes usually occurs in children and young adults. Symptoms include:
- Frequent urination
- Increased thirst
- Increased Hunger
- Unexplained weight loss
Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes usually occurs after age 30. Symptoms include:
- Fatigue
- Blurred Vision
- Cuts and sores that don’t heal
- Dry, itchy skin
- Infections (or the same infection keeps coming back)
- Numbness and tingling in hands, legs, or feet
If you are concerned that you may have diabetes, speak with your physician to have your blood sugar tested.
If diabetes is not managed properly it can cause many serious health complications including Heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, blindness and eye problems, kidney disease, nervous system disease and amputations.
