Estebo gives $10K gift to support hospital services

Redwood Area Hospital will be making additional improvements to services thanks to the generosity of Orrin Estebo.

“I am very pleased to give a gift of $10,000 to the Redwood Area Hospital Foundation along with my continuous support and appreciation for the hospital’s work,” said Estebo.

A portion of the gift will be used for new T.V.s in the hospital’s Cancer Center. The Foundation is looking to use the remainder of the gift to fund a ceiling lift system for the Imaging Services department for use with patients needing a CT scan.

The remote-controlled lift system runs on rails attached to the ceiling of the room, allowing a patient to be lifted to the CT machine with minimal risk of injury to the patient or nursing staff. The hospital will now have six lift systems throughout the facility.

In recent years, Estebo’s philanthropy has provided more than $40,000 to the Redwood Area Hospital Foundation which has been used to provide high quality patient care and experiences for our community. Estebo’s previous donations have provided sleeper chairs in patient rooms, updated AV equipment in the hospital’s education room and ceiling lifts in patient rooms.

“I make this donation being aware of the changes in administration happening in the hospital,” said Estebo. “I am also aware of the many, many awards received and improvements made at the hospital over the past decades. Certainly efforts of the former CEO, hospital administration, medical personnel and the entire staff should be credited.”
