If you are a Medicare Beneficiary, you may have received a letter from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) services regarding an $1800 annual cap on your therapy services benefits.
Please be aware that outpatient therapy services at Redwood Area Hospital are EXEMPT from the therapy cap and your therapy benefits have not changed.
I understand this cap in therapy services benefits is confusing. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) has sent you a letter to explain the therapy cap, the exceptions processes, and show you your rights and responsibilities as a Beneficiary. However, CMS has determined that Critical Access Hospitals and their outpatient departments are EXEMPT from this arbitrary cap in therapy services.
Since Redwood Area Hospital has a Critical Access Hospital designation from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, our outpatient therapy services are EXEMPT from the therapy cap at this time.
Rest assured, we will proactively communicate with you if we receive any direction or notice from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid that influences our services. We look forward to continuing to serve your therapy needs.
