General Medical and Pediatrics

Redwood Area Hospital strives to provide high quality healthcare for our area-wide community. We care for patients of all ages with a broad range of illnesses and acute hospitalizations, partnering with local physicians as well as specialists when needed, to create an individualized care plan based on each patients needs. If our patient needs more advanced care, we work in partnership with highly respected hospitals throughout the state to make sure each patient receives the right care, at the right time, in the right place to achieve the best outcome.

Our spacious patient rooms are equipped with the latest technology to provide patient comfort, including monitoring vital signs and apnea, regulating medications through I.V. pumps. Several patient rooms also include a remote-controlled lift system. The lift system runs on rails attached to the ceiling of the room, allowing a patient to be lifted out of bed and moved throughout their room with minimal risk of injury to the patient or nursing staff.  To learn more about your stay in our hospital, click here.

Electronic Medical Records

In 2011 Redwood Area Hospital began the conversion to an electronic medical records system. Using an electronic medical record system provides your medical team real-time access to your medical information, immediate safety checks for potential drug or allergy interaction, quicker access to test results and less time for patients and families providing duplicate information to your medical team.

Redwood Area Hospital strives to provide state-of-the-art care for infants, children and adolescents admitted by our local family practice physicians.

The hospital employs the latest technology for delivery of oxygen and medications to help treat our little ones. In fact, our respiratory and apnea monitors are comparable in both brand and functionality, to those used at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. Our nursing staff and respiratory therapist work with your local physician or specialists by phone, when needed, to create an individualized care plan from nebulizer medications to specialized support for oxygen delivery.

Spacious patient rooms provide ample room for family and items from home that will make the child more comfortable in a new environment. Both cribs and beds are available based on your preference and the child’s comfort.

All pediatric patients are continuously monitored by our caring nursing staff. All registered nurses are PEARS certified (Pediatric Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) and strive to provide the most comfortable stay for each of our patients and their family.
