Presented by Colleen Peyerl, Redwood Area Hospital Experience Manager
Integrative care is an approach to healthcare that is healing oriented versus strictly focused on cure. Integrative care considers the whole person, including mind, body, and spirit, within the context of social, cultural and environmental relationships. This holistic view takes into account that people are complex beings who possess their own intrinsic ability to heal when conditions allow. Integrative care embraces both conventional and alternative medicine using evidence based practice. Care is based on the importance of creating partnerships between patients and providers in order to address the full range of influences that affect a person’s health. This process enhances the ability for people to heal and most importantly, to stay well.
Open to community members and all hospital employees.
